The ETDS is one of Europe's largest university dance competitions, held twice a year. Hundreds of dancers gather from all over Europe to compete, dance, and enjoy a fantastic weekend together.
Standard & Latin
The competition features both Standard and Latin-American dances, on separate days. Everyone can find the style that suits them best.
All Levels
From beginner to professional, everyone can compete. The competition is divided into categories so everyone faces worthy opponents.
Blind Date
Don't have a dance partner? No problem! The "blind date" system uses a unique algorithm to find you a partner for the competition.
Evening Parties
Every competition evening ends with a party open to all participants. Beyond dancing, amazing community experiences are created.
BME Tíztánc × ETDS
The BME Ballroom Dance team first participated in the ETDS in autumn 2022, becoming the first and only Hungarian team at the competition. Since then, we have represented Hungarian university dance culture at every event, proudly wearing our country's colors in the international field.
Since our participation, we have achieved numerous outstanding results: we have finished on the podium multiple times in various categories, and have collected several first-place finishes. Our greatest success came in 2022, when we finished first as a team and won the coveted "Der Tanzmaus" traveling trophy!
Der Tanzmaus
"Der Tanzmaus" is a stuffed mouse who has been traveling from winning team to winning team since 1990. The mouse has its own wardrobe and diary: every team that takes care of it writes about their experiences and adds to the wardrobe with items characteristic of their country.
In 2022, the BME Ballroom Dance team won the Der Tanzmaus traveling trophy with their first-place team finish! 🏆🐭
